How did you go through so many in 2 weeks? Was it at shelters? You have to keep in mind that you will never be able to get the same dog twice each is different in temperaments and character but Iím sure you already know that. Are you looking for a puppy? An adult? Older or younger? Oh and sorry for your loss I know how you feel, I have had many dogs in my life time and itís always hard.

Hopefully she didnt mean 16 dogs in 2 weeks but 16 over her life span. No dog will work for you if you dont put in the effort to bond, train, set limits and follow through with techniques that can improve behavior patterns. Dogs are not human and must be trained and socialized to act a certain way that you feel is appropriate. Make sure your ready emotionally to focus on your new dog before you start to choose which breed could fit your life style. Good luck.
bblackwoman, we need a little more info, like your age, your lifestyle do you want a large dog or small dog, do you live in a house or apartment, your likes and dislikes in a dog, long or short hair, one that needs to go groomers and get dialy brushings or one that does not, does color matter, do you want a puppy and go through all of the training, teething etc. or would an older dog be better for you, do you have children or young people that would be around the dog, do you have any other pets already, I am sure there are many more questions so any info you are willing to provide would help. Have you ever owned a dog before? I know you said you have gone thru 16 but I assume you meant you have looked at that many. How long have you been looking for a dog? Finding the right dog takes a lot of time and research. research is one of the most important things you can do. Do you want a purebreed or a mix or does it matter?
Someone one here posted a quiz you can take to help determine what breed(s) would be good for a person, I can not find the link perhaps someone else knows it and would pass it on to you.
Good luck in your search and please take time to research the breed(s) and be sure you are getting this dog for the right reasons, don't make any hasty decisions, we understand your are so lonely right now and need to fill that void but remember a dog is a lot of work and you have to be responsible for him/her for their lifetime. The responsibility goes on way past your greiving period.
