My aunt has a chihuahua and a little while ago it started trembling a little bit and it was acting really nervous. He has had seizures before. Do you have any advice to keep him from having any more seizures? Someone told me that it could be caused from a drop in blood sugar.
The best advice to give anyone is to call their Vet and ask him/her. Ricky, Lucy & Desi Lu all tremble from time to time but have never had a seizure. Every pet should have their own Vet that knows them for just these kinds of things. Don't ever just trust what someone might say on the internet. Check with a Vet.
I agree with mhmama. She needs to take it to a vet. Several things can cause the seizure but only a vet can really diagnose the problem. Many times it can be corrected with meds depending on the cause. I do hope she seeks medical help for her little guy and hopefully it can be easily corrected. Wishing the best for her baby.
Chihuahuas tend to get hypoglecemic, or have low blood sugar. After it has a "seizure" or gets lethargic, won't move, or won't eat, give it anything with sugar in it. And go see your vet & get it tested for epilepsy.
