well i DO see a problem with it. a couple of problems actually. for one i dont think anyone should just give away an animal publicaly to strangers. i think they should charge an adoption fee. at least a small adoption fee. it keeps the animal resalers away. ( particularly the ones that sell to research ).and also they have no business giving away an unaltered animal. no excuse whatsoever for that. period.
so, what you are saying is that none of you, well the majority of you, dont see whats wrong other than theres no adoption fee... ? so you think its okay that they are giving away an UNALTERED male dog ( breeding age ), to someone they find off of a site that caters to the sale of merchandise ? ( basically, whoever will take it )....um uh.....alrighty then.............
k9luver isn't looking to stir up anything... As Dusty pointed out ~ having no adoption fee is pathetic. It's a BIG deal (not just an "other than" like you make it seem...) Not sure how you could think that is all right?
Yeah, let's GIVE AWAY out intact male...
that spells out PROBLEM!
talk about contributing to overpopulation in shelters.... GEEZ
People sell, or give away unaltered dogs all the time. It reallly isn't shocking. They weren't trying to sell it right? They were just hoping that some one may take the dog a little quicker to possibly use it for breeding.
I think that is their motivation.

My prob w/the ad was that they are/were giving away unaltered dogs, no adoption fee and/or an agreement to have them fixed. Also, why in the world would you let the dogs have puppies and not teach your kid to not go near the mother dog? Any dog can be territorial. I understand the kids werent 'old enough to know better' but in that case you need to do everything you can to keep the mom/puppies and children apart.
all im saying is that the dog was not sick it wasnt dying or even remotly close, from what i read,... most people give away unaltered, free dogs, ppl do that they dont like the expenses of getting all that stuff they need for the dog so they give it away.....

Good point, dogrmylife. We need to educate everyone we can that finding a new home for a dog in this manner (free, unneutered) is not a good idea. It can and, probably more than we like to think, does lead to the exploitation of the dog.
