We went to my MIL's yesterday for Christmas dinner, while there I browsed over the three new litters of puppies that came in the week we were in Fl. DH and I had agreed to take one or two in untill they were adopted, so I was pretty excited lol. Savanna was the first to catch my eye.....she is a chow mix, and such a sweet ball of fur hehe. I decided on just her for now since she didn't have any littermates with her, and she was the least socialized. Of course I do know that this thread is worthless without pictures......but it's been a rough morning here. so bare with me and I'll get them posted ASAP. Savanna had a rough night, so we were up untill 2am.....I expected to be able to sleep in, but my wonderfull little monster Makenzie was wide awake at 7, which meant it was time to get up and go out into this freezing weather so the dogs could go potty :O I'm ready to build a pen for them or move back to Floria lol.....this is just rediculose! Of course Miss Lady is happy now that Oliver has someone else to play with, he can really get on her nerves, and boy does she let him know. Once Savanna is free of fleas, and has learned that people aren't all that bad then she'll go up for adoption. I'm still thinking I might need to go pick up a "cage mate" for her so I can get some sleep, but the whole thought of having three non-housebroken dogs in the house scares me just a little lol. Savanna pottied on my tree skirt last night...of all places, and Daddy didn't get Oliver out of bed when he got up this morning so he pee'd on my bed! Now it's tough love......stay in the cage untill it's time to go out, come back in play for a bit and it's back to the cages they go. Alright I'm off to take pictures :)
haha looks like there is some trouble in the household. I couldnt deal with 3 non house broken puppies. Im surprised they didnt pee anywhere else. But Savannah looks really adorable. lol. I would guess a chow/gsd.
She didnt have any littermates?

How exciting, that you often get to raise puppies, clear them up and send them out to new homes.
I love reading your posts, even without pics.
But that little Savannah is GORGEOUS! You know me, having a fluffball of a Pom I gotta love the chows too, gosh she's just beautiful, and it looks like Oliver is a happy camper too. Good luck, keep us updated!
aparently there are 5 more just like her that need to be picked up, it's just making space for them right now. My MIL has 4 different litters of puppies from 3 weeks up to 15...a total of 12 puppies all together, plus her older dogs as well. I'm limited to one cage so I take just one or two from time to time.....with two kids I don't have the time to commit to fully housetraining, feeding, and medicating more than a few. Lady still demands a lot of my attention, and so does Oliver. I was going to pick up another one of my MIL's today...if you guys like Savanna lol you'll just LOVE the little male I wanted to bring home more than her lol. He's in the outside pen right now and with the rain yesterday I wasn't up to going out in the mud to get him. He's a great pyrenees/chow mix...all cream and fluff for days. Anywho; I was going to get him but there's been an outbreak of puppy flu or something over there and all the dogs are comeing down with it. I just hope I got Savanna out of there in time.....gosh only knows I don't need another bought of what Oliver had. So I'm going to wait it out to see if the male gets sick or not....if anything he'll be here in a day or two :) Then Savanna won't be soooo lonely at night lol.
lol Lorrix...DH grabs the crobar and prys them out of my arms! No seriously, the way I see it is I have a personal limit, which is 5 if I max that out by keeping them I can no longer help the ones who really need it. I love them long enough to teach them that while some of the human population sucks....NOT all of us do, and then I pass them on to their forever homes. It's the most rewarding thing...words can't even describe. When I place one of my dogs I cry, not because I'm going to miss them, but because I feel the joy the adoptee has in getting a "forever" friend. I was at the inlaws last night and I plopped on the couch for some relaxation when all of a sudden I was surrounded by 15 dog noses lol, that love is something I want to pass on, unconditional, forgiving love.
awww...she looks so adorable. I've been wanting to foster a dog or a cat for quit a while. But how do u foster? Is it hard or is it just like having a new puppy? I'm asking first to see how it is before i make the right desicion.
