I used to have a wall mounted gum ball machine in my game room as a joke... it was enjoyed by my neices untill one day my BEauceron, Haunter, figured out he could put his foot on the button and a gum ball would pop out... he eat about 20 of them, no ill effects aside from some gas.
Dusty, whether you meant it to or not, your msg #5 comes out sounding real snide. Why not just leave off the comment (i.e., "oh wait. that will be next weeks woe....") since it serves no purpose other than to hurt a concerned dog-owner's feelings. Call me a whiner if you must, but I found the comment completely uncalled for.
Bharathi, I hope Jimmy's all right. I don't think a small piece of gum would cause any distress, but if you feel that taking him to the vet is the thing to do, to the vet you must go.
BTW, Big Red gums do not contain xylitol. Xylitol is a sweetener, yes, but one that dentists promote (for humans) to help prevent tooth decay and is only in gums marketed for that purpose.
