Cash was fine yesterday, his fat lively little self. This morning I got him out for his morning potty.. and he had a little diarhea.. I figured wasn't such a big deal, he drank a little water. Then I let him out again about every 3 hours. The second potty was solid, then the third was hard. I took him out around 2am to go to the bathroom.. and he could barely stand up, or keep his head up. Wouldn't gnaw on my finger like usual.
So, I called my vet.. he met me there in 10 minutes. They gave him some sort of nutrical type suppliment and wanted to keep him and give him some fluids. He said he didn't think it was parvo, and that he's pretty sure he'd make it.
I had an appointment before this happened for 10am today to get Duchess groomed. Duchi has had ALL of her vaccinations and stuff.. I'm so worried about her catching something. I get to find out more about Cash in the morning when I take Duch.
Do you guys think Duch could catch anything, since shes been vaccinated? I'm so worried about both.
she could catch something from another dog but its unlikely. Remember vaccination are NOT fool proof. Just because she has had "all" of her vaccinations doesnt mean she is protected from getting anything.
Good luck with Cash-- I hope its something mild and non contagious
Cash is staying overnight again tonight. He has very low blood sugar, and he was dehydrated. They wanted to keep him overnight again tonight to keep giving him fluids. The doctor said he was eating, though.. and roaming around his cage.. but still a little weak. I don't understand how he could go so down hill in less than 24 hours. I'm so worried about the little guy.

Well, I went to pick him up. When I did they said I could take him, but they would prefer to keep him one more night if it was possible. I asked if he really needed that and they said.. it would be beneficial to give him fluids and stuff for one more night to be cautious. So, I left him and I'll get him in the morning. I can't wait to snuggle the little guy!
IV's, Nutrical, 200 dollars and three days later... he had coccidia. He was very near death when I took him in. It blows me away that he declined so badly in the span of 5 hours. Something that could have been prevented for a 5-10 dollar pill had the "breeder" been honest with me. She told me they had all been treated as 'precaution' for coccidia, worms and had their shots. I am so angry. It's not even about the money, I get my taxes soon.. it's the fact that that lady couldn't have told the truth if it had hit her in the face. At least I get my baby tomorrow. That I am happy about.
