I have lived with my boyfriend in our apartment for a year, two months ago he gave me and early christmas present (November 16). We went to the animal defense league and picked out our three year old pug terrier mix.
He loved to play. He rips up his stuffed animals, luckily for us he only chews and rips up his own stuff (never shoes, furniture, etc). In general he likes to play rough.
Well of course i took him to my parents house where he met my parents four Brittanys (5yrs-15 yrs old)and their new pup chow/very very large dog mix. Goldie, the chow mix pup will play with him with jumping a wrestling/ play fighting. Precious, our 7-8 year old girl just ignores him. Rusty, our fifteen year old, was just too old to play though he seemed not to mind. But Val and Max (brothers from the same litter) about 5 years old absolutly HATE Rocky. They hide and are scared and then at times get aggressive.
I slightly understand Vals frustration. Literally since i helped Precious give birth to him he was my puppy and we had a special connection. Unfortunatly for that connection, i eventually moved out and jnow im bringing this other dog under half his size over who just wants to jump around and play with him.
How could i better inergrate Rocky into this tightly knit pack of dogs?

My Rocky is a fawn Great Dane who also likes to play rough. She'll even punch you. Which is why her name is Rocky. We've taken her to several different trainers & no one can break her from being so rough
