We got a mixed breed dog at the shelter last week -- he's quite unsettled and is chewing everything, soiling and barking incessently. We do want to help him settle down-- does anyone know a good book on the internet I could get quickly to give us some guidance. Our last two dogs didn't have any of these problems...Thank you!
Actually I know a GREAT book! It's called Dr. Dog's Fast, Easy, Fun Behavior Solution. You can find it by visiting the website. www.drdogsbehaviorsolutions.com. This book was a god-send for me and my husband. We have a lab and beagle mixed. Out of the clear blue she started having some behavior problems. We seached the Internet and found this book and it has helped so much. Good luck with your your "doggie" and I'm sure everything will be fine. Really go visit the website, the book is EXCELLENT.
How old it the dog? What is your routine with the dog? Are you using a crate? Are you gone most of the day? When do these problems happen? It takes them some time to adjust to the new settings. I'm sure if you give us alittle more on how you are doing things, we can give you some "tips" that have worked for us.
As far as books go, I'm not much help there....I use google and search for the items...
