I got a call 2 hours ago telling me my cat wilbur passed away from internal bleeding. He had a allergic reaction to flee treatment. I tried everything to help. the vet sounded optomistic at first but I guess you never know. He had lost control of his body. He couldn't move. I never saw anything so bad. I learned my lesson not to buy hartz flee treatment. Has anyone else heard of this. I can't believe he is gone.
In the future, perhaps just spend a little more money and get flea treatment from the vet. Hartz has a bad reputation for things like this. Get Frontline, I've never had any problems. Of course, I have dogs.
thanks for the support. We were waiting on the frontline in the mail. I was hesitating on posting this because I thought I would get some nasty feed back. But I still had to warn people who did not know
I have heard of the Hartz flea treatment problem and I believe they have til the spring to get rid of their product. Why it is still sold is beyond me. It is known to kill cats and they have lawsuits against them right now because of it. The FDA gave them til spring of this year which I think is b.s. since it was KNOWN to have these effects.
Again I am very sorry. In the future stick with a vet recommended flea/tick treatment only. It is worth the extra money.
I was deleting spam posts and came across this old post from 2007. Believe it or not, Hartz has killed many, many pets and still, 5 years after this original post, continues to sell its dangerous products.
There are many *recent* posts on Hartzkills.org and hartzvictims.org, story after story about pets becoming sick and or dying from Hartz products.
