I kinda dont have any say in this so I'm practically forced in keeping these pet mice. Anyway, I have a 3 year old cat and I have never had a cat and pet mice together at the same time and I am wondering do I need to keep the door of the room where I keep my mice in closed at all times, will a 3 year old cat really try to murder the pet mice?? Is the cat-mouse myth true???
make sure the mice are kept in a house that the cat cannot get into. what kind of set up do you have for them ? is it a fish tank with a screen cover on top ? if so put something heacy llike a book on top of the cover so the cat cannot flip the lid off and get in with the mice.
i imagine that if any mice get loose in your home they are fair game for the cat. it is also possible that your cat may show no interest in the mice once the intial getting used to them period os over. my cats routinely kill mice but they always left out guinea pig alone, even when the pig was loose in the house.
Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.
