Cats are cats and from what I have allways understand exspecially with my two is they sleep when they want(which is all day),and they play when they want. My two girls just happen to have their playful moments when I am sleeping and sometimes they do wake me up and then I tell them to get off the bed and they give me that cat look that says "HM me i wasn't doing anything wrong". Eventually, if it is a kitten they will gradually calm down sort of, but good luck I know how it can be. Oh, and if their really playful don't give them a lil stuffed mouse at night my two used to put theirs in their water dish and then it would find its way up by my pillow. yuck! But I still love them.
How old is the kitten? When I got Simone I had her in the spare bedroom while she was real little, because I had another cat, and a dog. She woke up about 4:00 a.m. everyday for awhile there, but she learned the routine, and it didn't take her that long. Keep in mind the kitten is a baby, that is not with it's littermates or mom anymore, they get lonely, and want attention when they are babies.
All cats are like that. It's something you'll have to get used to. If you keep your kitten in your room during the night the best way would be for you to leave the door open so he/she can go in and out as he/she pleases, so that when he/she gets up they dont have to meow at the door and it wakes you up. But there is no law that says you have to feed them at the exact time they wake up.
