Last Thursday 2/22, my hubby and I adopted a Beagle pup (unsure of age, shelter said between 3-5 months old, she still has baby teeth her estimated day of birth was 10/22/06) from animal shelter (found her through petfinder.com). Everything has been going very good up until today, when she started dry heaving at around 12pm. While dry heaving she will open her mouth sometimes, liquid has came out twice. The second time it came out it had grass in it and had a yellow brownish color. I don't want to overreact with her, since my hubby said I have a habit of making a big deal out of nothing. I don't know much about her background, except that she had only been at the animal shelter 5 days prior to us getting her, she was found just kind of wandering around. The day before we adopted her she was spayed. We have a good number of dogs in our neighborhood. I just hope I am not overreacting, but my kids have fell in love with her and would hate to have something happen to her.
Well its apparent your dog eats grass. Alot of dogs eat it and if eaten enough they generally vomit. If your dog is eating and drinking and using the bathroom normal, just keep an eye on her. Dogs can cough here and there and not be sick. They can reverse sneeze as they call it. If it worsens bring her to the vet. Rememeber most dogs at the shelter end up with kennel cough.
Whoever said you can't buy happiness, must have never owned a dog!!!!!!!!!!!
