i was watchin crufts last nite and they pointed out that it was in a newspaper that it was cruel!!does anyone else feel this way??i dont think it is!!if my dog was a pedigree i would enter her in this because i think she would like it!!
The article was written by an animal rights activist that says dog shows are cruel becuase a bunch of deformed dogs are put on display for human pleasure.
Considering most people have never shown a dog they have no clue that showing has to be fun for the dog for the dog to show. You can not force a dog to show that does not want to. You can not drag a sickly dog into the show ring. It actually is not a beauty compition its about the dogs structure and physical soundness.
On the best of days a dog is a dog, and on the worst of days a dog is a dog.
Crufts is not cruel. Sad comentary on humanity, but some show dogs get better care than human children. And you can not just enter Cruft's, you must qualify. My dog is qualified by winning and Award of Excellence at the Eukanuba Invitational last Dec. And by winning and Award of Merit at our National Specialty show last Oct. He is not entered this year because there was not time to get the paperwork and testing done in time to enter the United Kingdom. But they give you entry for two years. So hopefully we will be there next year.
