I have two dogs Rocky(shepherd mix),and Mollie(boxer/beagle). Mollie has really bad breath and her teeth are sometimes yellow. Rockys teeth are bright white (honestly no yellow) and his breath doesn't even smell. They both eat the same food (authority), chew the same bones/kongs and both get their teeth brushed. Do certain breeds just have bad teeth or could Mollie have some other problem?
Doubt it's a breed thing. I have 4 Dobes and 1 of them(unfortunatly my favorite) has breath that can knock a mule at 40 paces. The others don't...just normal doggie breath. They all have clean bright white teeth.
From personal experience I have learned that dogs can start developing tartar build up just days after a cleaning while another dog will not. I don't think its a health issue, just that every dog's mouth and dental work is different.
I like him a lot better than I like most people. To you he's a dog. TO me he's an adopted son who is short, hairy, walks on all fours and doesn't speak clearly. I have no problem with any of these. <
I don't brush my dogs teeth, but I have taken her to the vet. My dog has somewhat bad breath in the morning and she always yawns right at my nose and it makes me wanna keel over LOL It still stinky. But later on in the day her breath is fine and she has tarter build up, I took her to get a dental cleaning done to her teeth 2 years ago, should she alredy be getting tarter?
