swollen, round, bright red bubble on dog's upper lip- went to vet, gave my dog penicillin shot and gave her antibiotics (omoxicillin 2x a day) pill, and it's the third day, and she still has a fever and the spot looks like it's literally growing on her face. He said it;s an infection,and not sure what it is. Her blood test said infection.. Heart Worm Blood Test showed no signs of disease.. Doctor said it maybe just a whisker that fell out and the hole got infected-- like an ingrown hair or something.. Someone write me and tell me what I should do- get second opinion? go back to her doctor? or do something about this spot myself?

Could be that it is needing to be lanced. Could be a puss pocket or fluid. If it does not get better in a day or so. Go back. In the mean time you have to go thru all the meds the vet gave you. all of it. Try warm compresses on it a couple times a day. Help draw out junk or fluid.

maybe it is a tumor or cancer. But i have no idea really. hope everything works out for you, God bless

Jenniferliane, U might want to see areal vet, my dog had the same thing you described about your dog, I just got back from the vet,those bumps u are talking about could be cancer... The Dr. said it was a mass tumor, I am waiting results from the patholigist to see if its cancer, but they said most likely it is, if you dont do something now it will spread even more!! They cut it out but the results do not sound promising, I have had my dog since he was 5 weeks old, now he is 11. It's very heart breaking about this' so hopefully your dog does not have this..

Does it bother your dog when you touch it? Does your dog have a fever? The way you describe it, almost sounds like an abcess.
Could you put a warm compress on it and gently squeeze it?
I must although warn you of the smell, its gross. And even if you do push out puss, you should go to the vet to make sure it doesn't get infected, or at least to see if you got it all. If it bothers your dog, or if nothing comes out easily, I would go to the vet. Abcesses don't look like zits, they are usually really deep, so you don't see the puss at first.
And don't worry about cancer or that kind of stuff until your vet tells you for sure. Shouldn't have to have that on your mind all day until your positive. Just be sure to have another vet check it out. That way you can be sure you are giving the right treatment.
