We tried the ow ow ow when she puts her mouth around your skin and that worked for awhile now she thinks it is fun...i have tried nilf maybe i'm doing something wrong.. can anyone give me any ideas? i'm desperate my hubby is getting fed up with her, and i refuse to get rid of her but he is telling me she has to go if she doesn't stop or calm it down a little..please help me?
Are you giving the pup get *more* attention or *less* attention from biting? Think about it. She needs to understand if she starts to bite, the game is over -- you cut off eye contact, stop talking to her, and leave the room.
BTW -- An instructor at a puppy class told us the humane society here gets the most puppies at about 6 months. It's a trying time. Hang in there!
This probly a mixture of boredom and learning issues.Hes learned that its fun and there has to be some pay off to jumping up and grabbing at clothes. First I want you all to get yourselves fnny packs and fill them up with small liver treat sized treats. The adult should start this off, it will be the new game in the house. Take the treat and put it in the dogs face so he knows you have it (just for a second)Then stand up straight, cross your arms and wait for the dog to offer something you like, as soon as it happens, shove the treat in his face.Close enough so he doesn't need or have to jump up to get it. So if he sits down, thats what you want, so know you give him the treat as soon as the bum hits the floor, and then walk away. If while your standing there, he jumps up on you, look away and wait for the sit, it could take a while but, but training is about patience.Let me know how it goes.
