My puppy has a small perfectly round something in her skin. Its round like a marble but smaller, more like the size of a small pebble. You can feel it when you pick up her saggy skin on her left side between her left front leg and her ear. My husband thought it could be from the vaccinations, that maybe it left a small swelling, like it does in human babies. The trainer said maybe it could be a chip, but she has not been microchipped. Has anyone experienced this sort of thing in their dog before?
I've seen many "lumps" from vaccinations. I always ask the vet for the area of the vaccination, that way I can keep an eye on it. Sometimes a reaction could show up weeks after. Call your vet and find out the exact location of the shot, see what the Doc thinks. If it is the shot, and it's bothering the dog, a warm compress always helps.
I'm trying to picture where the area is your describing. Not thinking it is a spot they would have given a vaccination. Could be many things. If it isnt bothering her, I would just watch it over the next week or so to see if it gets larger, painful, etc. If your still concerned take her to the vet.
People are like slinky's, not really good for much. But its still fun to push them down the stairs.
It doesnt seem to bother her at all, but Im just over protective of her right now. She's our first puppy and Im scared to death that Im gonna do something wrong. Kind of like when you have your first baby. My grandmothers dog had large lumps that turned out to be tumors before she died and so I guess I panicked a little. Im not sure if puppies can get tumors. Im hoping its nothing, its just a little weird. Thanx for the info. :-)
One word frees us of all the weight and pain of life: That word is love.
IT MAY BE A SIST. THEY ARE SMALL PUSS BALLS ALMOST LIKE A PIMPLE. THEY ARE SOFT AND ARE HARMLESS. YOU CAN CONTACT YOUR VET AND THEY CAN LANCE IT AND DRAIN IT FOR YOU. I HAVE SHEEP AND WHEN THEY GET STUNG OR POKED BY THORNS THAT IS WHAT THEY GET.
If it were my dog the first thing I would do is call the vet and ask for the location of the vaccinations. If this is a different area to where the lump is ask your vet about it. They might tell you to wait a few days or have you stop by.
My beagle did have a lump after her vacs but it was between the shoulder blade area or just past her neck.
