I recently switched my puppies over from Natural Balance to Solid Gold. I was wondering if anyone else feeds Solid Gold and if its a good quality dog food. I once read somewhere that the less ingredients dog foods have the better. If this is the case, Solid Gold would be a better choice. However, when I was looking for dog food, one of the workers told me that Natural Balance was the best food to feed my puppies. I wanted to do the raw diet, but the hubby said no, and I am also hesistant myself. Any information on this is so absolutely appreciated. Thank you!

I too liked Solid Gold, but it's too rich for my dogs. I tried them on it for just over a month and they seemed t like it, however, they also lost weight while eating it. I also talked to my vet about it, and she too liked it, but here great dane actually had very loose stools while eating it. She informed me that some dogs just cant eat it. If you dog is ok on it, go for it! Other wise, the food you were feeding before is good too, thats what I use now for my dobermans. :-)
Yes, my babies have loose stools on Solid Gold as well. I figured it was because I had just recently switched their diets. When the vet asked me what I fed my Doberman and I told her Solid Gold, she didn't really say anything. I figured she didn't know much so I didn't try to ask her any more questions. The breeder said that Solid Gold was fine for him. So that is what I am going to be sticking too. Anyways, thanks for all the input!!
