I don't know about the lack of bowel movement, but I checked and Prednisone can cause retention of fluids. I thought that was true, as my wife is on Prednisone quite often due to chronic pulmonary disease. Hope this helps.
Glad he is doing better. You will feel better too tomorrow after you see the vet. Sometimes we just seem helpless when they are sick and they can't tell us how they feel. It seems like alot of people are having problems they never had before trying to get their dogs changed over to something they can trust to feed and all of it together is flustrating to say the lease. It may be something to do with a change in his diet. Hope its not anything serious.
Bordetela injection he gets twice a year from now onwards. Day care center want to make sure he has taken bordetella otherwise they will not take him. I had to get the written document saying he has taken bordetella According to the Vet he said once a year is ok for a dog. Unfortunatley the day care want to have this injectin 2 times a year Predisone is the one for breathing .He is also taking antibiotic Poor guy is with so nuch of medications
Medication is for a limitted time only he should be ok afterwards
I have had to take prednisone off and on for allergies, I know it causes insomnia, and it dries you up some. Never experienced the hunger, just the opposite, not hungry when I am on it. The most important thing to remember is do not take your animal off without cutting down the dose slowly, which is exactly what your vet recommended. Sure hope by the time your read this Jimmy is 100%
