I am having difficulty training my 7 month old mini pin, Ninja. We have had him for a month and he refuses to go to the bathroom outside. I have spent hours outside with no avail. He also seems to have no problem going in the crate and rolling around in it, he will also go on the floor as soon as he comes in from a walk. Also, he is very aggressive with my hound mix, Spencer. He growls at Spencer, takes his food, and humps him. Luckily, Spencer is a very calm dog and pays no attention to Ninja's acts of aggression. Any suggestion as to what i can do with this crazy mini pin?
no advice but i can say i know exactly what you're going through. my old roomate had a min-pin who was out of control and humped everything in site. i used to joke and say that watching him was like watching a movie in fast-forward. he was nuts. needless to say, we did not room together the next year primarily because of the dog--i got sick of walking out of my room every morning and dodging the various piles of poop and pee, and got tired of being humped everytime i tried to watch TV. the last i heard she gave him away. by nature they're really high strug. on the other hand, my new roomates parents have too and they are sweeter than pie. i'll have to ask them what their secret is. i do know that they have a huge yard and they spend a lot of time outside getting rid of that energy.
Min Pins are a highly intelligent breed, usually smart enough to always be a couple steps ahead of their owners. Chhose a method and stick with it, patrince and consitency is a mut. The aggression issues you must get under cntrol NOW before it is too late. Contact a local trainer or invest in some obedience classes to start with.
Many here highly reccoment the NILF training, they can probably hook you up with links. His behavior will get mote out of control the longer he is permitted to do it.
People are like slinky's, not really good for much. But its still fun to push them down the stairs.
