I was wondering, how can you tell if your babies have fleas? Besides them constantly scratching, is there any other indications? Is it not true that they can be scratching due to allergies or dry skin? I am just wondering because I live in Texas and I hear that fleas are really bad out here. Thank you for any ideas!

when you pull up the fur in the opposite direction of how it falls, you can see them on the skin. Base of tail, base of neck, middle of back are good places to look. An infested dog will also show them on the belly
Yes, they can scratch for many reasons having to do with allergies, fleas, skin problems of other types, etc... Your vet should be able to help you with this too.
Fleas live in heat. Most states in our country have flea problems warm summer months.
