I've just got off the phone with the vet's office - the vet is on the other line with an emergency case - they'll be getting back to me ASAP... ...in the meanwhile, should I be doing anything? Her bottom lip is fairly swollen, she's being head-shy and is just laying under the chair, but is responding to voice by looking. Is this a necessary trip to the vet RIGHT NOW or can I do something at home and monitor her for a bit?
Any brachycephalic dog who has the potential for a compromised airway, like a wasp sting on the lip, should immediately been given benadryl ( as recommended by their vet) and taken directly to the vet. Brachycephalic dogs are , for those who don't know, pugs, Bostons, Boxers Bulldogs, Frenchies etc. etc.
