My cat just had kittens about 4 weeks ago. She had a litter of 4, but one days after about 2 weeks. One of the 3 left seems sick. All it does is lay around, it just looks weak and in pain. It cries when the mother licks it, and it doesn't eat every time she feeds the others. I can't take it to the vet at the moment because money is tied up in something else. I was hoping there was something I could try and do until I can get it into the vet?
You could try to feed the kitten, you should buy a can of kitten milk replacer from the vet, and use a tiny bottle, a available at most vets, of if he's too week to suck, you can feed him with an eyedropper, not too much at a time. If you can't get kitten milk replacer, you can mix 1 can of evaporated milk ,NOT CONDENSED, with one egg yolk. Shake it up until it's thoroughly mixed. The kitten will only take a few cc's at a time, and will have to be fed every couple of hours. Make sure to keep him warm, as well. If he does'nt improve, you will have to take him to a vet. Good luck.
