my mother has a budgie and its wing feather is bent therefore hindering his flying. We have plucked the feather out previously as we were advised but it has now grown back and it is still bent. Can anyone tell me what is causing this and how we can sort it out. the bird is about 6 months old now
The nerves have nothing to do with it. They will grow back so long as the follicles are not damaged. They will come back in their own good time. It may take several months for them to be totally replaced. The only thing you can do to help is make sure his diet is perfect and give him lots of opportunities for bathing to help keep the new pin feathers soft and make them more comfortable.
