I'm so glad you wrote, I couldn't find your last topic and couldn't remember your new name but thought you would find this interesting. I was reading the paper a couple of weeks ago and thought you might want to see it....
" HOW MUCH WILL YOUR WEDDING COST? There is no 'average' wedding, of course, any more than there's an average bride and groom. But if there were, say, an Annie Average, and Annie and the love of her life spent an average amount, theyd shell out more than $27,000 on a wedding this year. That's about double the cost back in 1990. Below is a breakdown of where the money goes, on average, according to the survey of 1,619 brides by The Conde Nast Bridal Group, publisher of several bridal magazines. You're not average, of course - and your wedding won't be, either. But how about your wedding cost? Compare.
Stationery - invite, thank yous etc - 426.00 Bouquets and other flowers - 1,177.00 Photography,Videography - 3,509.00 Wedding favors - 284.00 Music - 842.00 Clergy, church etc - 338.00 Limo rental - 259.00 Attendant's gifts - 616.00 Wedding rings - 2,079.00 Engagement rings - 4,435.00 Rehearsal dinner - 750.00 Wedding dress - 1,025.00 headpiece/veil - 167.00 bridesmaids dresses (5) - 556.00 mother of the bride dress - 166.00 grooms wear (rented) - 146.00 formal wear for the guys rented (5) - 385.00 reception (186 guests) 9,286.00 other - 1406.00 TOTAL - $ 27,852.00 "
Holy crap! I'm glad I got married 5 years ago! LOL! We only shelled out 13,000.00!! So, anyway, thought you might want to see it!
I've read that most of the time, wedding industry representatives report average cost, not mean. So the numbers get skewed when a couple crazy people spend $100,000+. All in their ploy to get you to spend more.
