I had a yellow lab that was 11 years old that we had to have put down in July. We have decided that it was time to move on and get another. My son went to the local SPCA and brought home a black lab mix. Her name is Zeke - he's doing really well. We only have one problem SO FAR that is. He just loves to nip at us. I really do not think he's agressive - just wanting to play. We have many toys for him but he still likes the hands and feet. He was so easy to house break which was a blessing. I hope that he lives a good livf and brings us as much happiness as our 11 year old.
Welcome and congrats. Do you have a boy or girl, you said HER name is Zeke then refer to the dog as HE, doesn't really matter just wondering. I remember when Cody was a pup, he loved hands and feet, he wasn't aggressive or anything he was just being a puppy, I would allow him to naw on my hand as long as it was gentle, if he got to ruff I would yell no or ouch real loud and push him away, if he came back I would tell him "Gentle" and as long as he was gentle I didn't mind but as soon as he got rough I would yell no or ouch and push him away. If he couldn't be nice I would distract him with a toy he could chew on hard. We really never had a big problem with this at all. I think pups just need to naw on things. Dogs are soooo much fun, enjoy your new pet.
