Hi everyone! I'm new and I wanted to know what color my minidachshund fits into. I'm registering her and I can't find her color maybe someone has knowledge in this area. My puppy is brown but the only color the akc has that is close to hers is chocolate. Is that the color I use? Thank you.
Do you have her picture posted on photobucket? It might be easier if we could see her.
You are the breeder? What colour are her parents? Not sure I can help but I will try, there are some colours that are breed specific I might not know (ie beaver/cinnamon in Poms/Chows), but I'll give it a shot.

If you did not breed this puppy, the breeder should have marked this at the birth of your puppy. It is very important in this breed as well as others, that if there is dappling in the coat that it be recorded at birth. As with many breeds, dappling can disappear by 8 weeks of age. If the dog is going to ever be breed in the future this color information can be critical for the well being of any future pups. If the dog is not the color of Cocoa, I would mark her as a red.
