I have a nine week old Jatsu puppy, Today I got her a new toy, It is a soft Plushy Ball a little bigger than her. She instantly took to it and played with it for hours, when my husband noticed her humping it. What does this mean? does anyone know?
Hi! I'm no expert other than I've raised lots of puppies in my rather lengthy life & it sounds like normal puppy-play behavior to me. Hopefully you're just curious & you weren't freaked out by her behavior because I'm sure it's the same type of play-behavior your puppy enjoyed with her littermates (if nothing else perhaps just trying to establish dominance within "her pack").
You DO know we'll all expect pix of your new pup, right? - :-)
Dogs have taught me all I need to know about life, love, loyalty, & laughter; & (heartbreakingly), loss & "letting go" of a loved one as well. God bless ‘em…
My dog will only hump toys bigger than him. Actually it's his stuffed cow. Come to think of it........this is also the only stuffed animal toy that he has not torn apart and ripped the stuffing out of. Hmmm...... I think it's a dominance issue. He must be intimidated by it being larger than him......so he has to show it who's boss...LOL!Oh and by the way......he is only 5lbs. fully grown. I'm sure you were wondering what toy could possible be bigger than him!!!
