I got a 9 week old Goldendoodle 12 days ago...the first 10 days were great...except for the biting...but I've raised puppies before (Labs and a Beagle) Yesterday, I had to put her on a leash because she started to venture out too far. She hated that! When I brought her in the house she became so aggressive...I emailed the breeder and read on the internet that I should restrain her on her back..which I did. Today she was fabulous again...and tonight coming into the house she did it again...I mean she was 10 lbs. of mean..teeth showing, growling etc. I have three young granddaughters, 7, 5, and 1. I can't own an aggressive dog!! Will this go away...is it a phase...otherwise she is very sweet and almost housetrained..sits, down, and shake. She is very smart. I have let her on my bed with me, although she sleeps in a crate near our bed all night. I am feeling so discouraged...any suggestions??? She follows me around all day, so she doesn't stay asleep for very long..is she overly tired?
fyi from what I've read the alpha roll isn't the best thing to do as in the wild the only time and alpha wolf would but another pack member on their back it would be to kill them. Willfully submitting their belly is ok but as I said from what I've read the alpha roll is being reconsidered by trainers. Other than that I agree with Pen that you should get the pup checked out by a vet. Is it possible that her collar is too tight or something with the leash on?
