Hey yall!!! I'm a proud mommy of a mini Schnauzer and have a ton of questions about them if any of you who are out there and have one of these furry little characters please let me know! Thanks a bunch!!!
Mandy He is lovely. Boy are you going to have fun!! We have had dogs all our lives, and they really add a lot. Welcome to the site. You will enjoy it and the people who frequent this forum for the most part will give you fantastic advice. Enjoy!!
Thank guys! My puppy is four months old and is FULL of energy....her first grooming appt was yesterday and now she looks totally different. She's still cute but we had her cut really short because we are NC and its going to get pretty hot and with her being black we thought it might keep her cool. It's going to take a little bit to get use to her being so bald. LOL Anywho her parents were both silver so she will eventually turn silver. I wish that she would stay black but nature has it's own plans for her. We got her when she was 6 weeks old. I know now that it may have been too early because everything I've read about bite inhibition. She's a bit of a nipper and biter when she's excited, wants to play, or just because. I'm trying desperatly to stop it but hopfully when she gets through the puppy stages and the teething it will stop. That's one thing I can't stand is when an adult dog nips and jumps. Right now she does both. My husband and I work with her all the time and try to teach her right from wrong and teach her tricks and we walk her almost everyday if it's not raining. We have some new favorite dog shows....LOL Mandy is my puppy's name and I call her Mandy Bear, my name is Jaime. Mandy has a sister that is a 13 year old cat named Frisco. Frisco really isn't too happy with Mandy being there but we are hoping that in time they will grow to love one another. Thanks for the replies. When I get a chance I will upload some more pics of my baby girl.
Jaime, you are so lucky - you will enjoy Mandybear for sure. I don't have one (yet) but my friend does (as you will see in the thread pope182 gave you) and I talk about him as if he's my long lost love. You'll love her 'bark' and if you keep her ears natural, they give her even more character than she already has. Oh I'm so envious....heehee
In order to really enjoy a dog, one doesn't merely try to train him to be semi human. The point of it is to open oneself to the possibility of becoming partly a dog. ~Edward Hoagland
