I have become the owner of a new Malinois/ Shep x. He is a wonderful man(intact) but not my choice. He exhibits all thw wonderful traits but of course the negative ones as well. He is timid, shy and nervous. Do you have any ideas to get him over this? He is 2 yrs old.

Of course socialize as much as possible as much stimuli as possible.. Mal's need a job, a purpose. They thrive on working.

I would wonder why of all dogs you took this dog if it wasn't your kind of dog. This dog is not for everyone in the first place, and definitely not for someone who didn't want it.
I would seriously look to rehome the dog, possibly through the Malinois rescue, or get in touch with Gunny, he would know. These dogs need to be well trained and have to have some kind of purpose.
You have left him intact, why?
