This is weird. We have a five year old Lab, Abby, she will not eat dog food but eats only cat food. ( We've even bought the small nugget dog food.) She won't touch it. However she will eat dead fish, mice, birds, bottle caps, plastic, etc. She even ate a two month old easter egg she found in the yard. (Gross) If that wasn't bad enough, she rolled in it. The smell is awful!!!! Is our dog crazy? And how do you get a dogs breath to smell better after all this.
Cat food is not good for dogs. None of the other junk you say your dog is eating is either. Get some good quality dog food. The better foods can be found at feed stores. I feed mine Innova Evo. Put the food down, and leave it down. Make sure you always keep fresh water next to the food dish. Quit giving her the cat food and all that other junk. When she gets hungry enough, she will eat.
If you are a dog and your owner suggests that you wear a sweater, suggest that he wear a tail.
I don't want to sound cruel, but buy a really good dog food, and mix it with a good meaty canned one, a small portion. Take the cat food away, and don't give it back. Offer her her the dog food, and if she hasn't eaten it by lunch time, put it back in the fridge till dinner, at which time, warm it slightly, and offer it to her again, and so on. The other way you can do it is starting at week one feed 75% cat food,25% dog food. The next week 50% cat food ,50% dog food. The third week 75% dog food, and 25% cat food. The final week almost all dog food, with a small sprinkling of cat food. The whole time use a good canned food to mix with this to throw her off a bit.You could also add a little cottage cheese, and plain yoghurt. She won't have a hot clue what she's eating! I've seen too many over weight Labs from the owners giving them table food, it's sad.Not saying that's what you're doing. Good luck!
just like the last reply, I had vto do this with one of my dogs when I got him. he was "training me" to give him yummy food. I just tried mixing things like carrots and doggy food gravy into his food. he now eats just fine:)
People make dogs picky. Dogs don't make dogs picky. It is up to you as to what your dog does or does not have access to. If you have a cat, you need to put the cat food somewhere with no dog access.. if not, you need to quit buying your dog cat food. It's not formulated for dogs in many ways.
Make a food choice any food choice, hopefully an informed one that has some decent ingredients, put a time limit on every meal as posted above, and don't cave. More you fiddle with the food though the more you encourage pickiness as there is the possibility something better may come along, so hold out longer.

All of these responses are great ! I have had a couple picky Boxer eaters. While of course your heart hurts at watching them turn their nose up at their dog food bowl, you have to do what is best for them.
Do not feed cat food. It is too high in protein and can make them sick. Besides, it was not formulated for dogs. No table scraps either. As so many others said, pick a good quality kibble and go with that. Be consistant over meal times. Pick up the food if it is not eaten. You can be at the bowl and encourage them to eat. But don't give in and reach for something "human". They are smarter than you think :)
