hello all . i have just got myself the most perfect little puppy ... his name is winston and he is a english bulldog and is ten weeks and two days old . he is toliet training fantastic but i have one slight problem he won.t stop chewing on peoples toes and bottoms on trousers i am unsure of the best way to stop him doing it . at the moment i am just gently pushing him away and telling him no but he just keeps coming back and doing it again . he has lots of chew toys but would rather toes please can anyone give me some advise on the best way to teach him
My puppy did the same thing for a short time. I would tell him stearnly, NO, and then immediatly give him something he was allowed to chew on and praise him if he did take it. He would sometimes get a little over bearing with vistors, and that's when someone told me about a Gentle Leader. It's a name brand leader that puts pressure in certain places that most dogs don't like. It doesn't hurt them, but let's them know they are not in charge. Now, I just have to show it to him and he knows he's pushing to far. You're guy may be a little young for it right now, but maybe something to keep in mind if he persists in his toe fetish. Good luck and may patience be with you!
