I got an 8 wk. Pug who had her first set of vax the day before. After breeder left our home, all she did was sleep, throw up and have diarrhea. 8 hours later, I knew something was seriously wrong, took her to emergency vet and she was diagnosed with VERY STRONG Parvo. She weighed only 1.7lbs!! I left her there overnight to keep her comfortable. I couldn't reach owner. Next morning, I called for update and pup's health very poor, going downhill. Vet said humane thing was euthanasia since she was in distress. I still hadn't heard from owner, but signed consent for euthanasia. Bill came to $800.00. Half hour later, he called and said I was given wrong info from vet; that it was just worms. Do I have any legal recourse?? P.S. He wouldn't give part of my deposit for pup until I mailed him vet bills(??) I've read the California Puppy Lemon law over and over but not sure I have a case. Thanks-
As I understand---Lemon law is pay the vet bills but not more than the cost of the purchase price and I think a replacement puppy as well. Parvo puppies will be on deaths door but you keep on treating them!!! You never give up-ever! They may die but some will make it-the will to survive is AMAZING! Small claims court!
Why is it-you can meet a stranger on the streets and start sharing your stories about each others dogs and leave that same street friends?? They are like a bag of Chips-You can't just have one!!!
