Wow I feel like its been forever since I've been on and man has a lot happened. I moved home from columbia straight into a trailer w my roomate/best friend w duke anfd lucy and her dachshund jersey. Anyway duke did fantastic no pee accidents he would occasionally poop in her room for some reason. Everything was going great until just recently. Within the last 2 1/2 wks my friend and I have all but twrminated our friendship and I've moved back in w my parents and their 2 dogs. Since then duke hasn't really been very consistant. He's gone back 2 just getting up and peeing in the other room without telling me he has 2 go and has been horrible w pooping going so far as to poop on our furton. Now I know the fact that other dogs have had accidents on the floor here has some effect but could he be acting out bc he's upset over the move and missing jersey? And what can I do to help I can't take this much longer and I'm afraid neither can my parents. Sorry that this is so long and I hope ur all doing well I've missed u all!
You could start with crate training, if you did it in the first place. Maybe the routine will get him back on the right path. Good luck with him. You may also want to take him to the vet to make sure there is no underlying reason for this.
I agree with whoever said go back to square one with the potty training, as if he were a puppy. Take him out every few hours, and at the times when you know he will need to go, like 15 minutes after eating, etc., and praise like crazy when he does it outside! Treats too if he is a treat kind of guy.
I think it's probably not so much that he's missing his last house, as he is stressed from the move. But if you don't correct the problem right away, he could fall into the habit of doing it, and nobody wants that!
