I need some help. I have a 2 year old yorkie. And he is very hyper, always on the go. He barks at anything, and I mean anything! I swear he has better hearing than a bat. He can be sleeping and will all of a sudden jump up and start barking at I don't know what? He barks at the doorbell, the phone, the cars going by, anything loud on the TV, people talking outside. He barks when I am trying to eat or when I am cooking at the pots and pans. But what is really unusual is he barks when I take paper towels off the roll. It doesn't matter if it is 1 or 5 paper towels. He then go overs and starts to bark at the door. and then runs over to me and jumps up and tries to nip at my legs. I usually go outside to pick up his doggie poop with paper towels, but I also use paper towels for other things as well. He just seems very high stressed and always on the go. He hardly is calm and rarely will sit or lay down for long periods of time. I have had him in doggie training and he loves the other dogs. But it has not helped with the barking.Oh he also scratches the door went he wants to go outside. Which it seems like every 5 minutes. Now my door's paint is gone and I need to repaint! If I don't let him out he just continues to scratch like crazy. Help any sugg..?

My suggestion is to take him on frequent walks, or runs, if you're in the country, always taking a bottle of water with you, mixed with a little gatorade, or plain karo syrup. If it's hellishly hot, and you have AC, just play with him, throwing a toy, playing fetch, over and over. If he barks, try spraying him in the face with water, especially at the times that seem totally off the wall. Of course he's going to bark when he plays, and I wouldn't discourage that barking.Perhaps he is associating the paper towel with being outside... and just wants to go and run around. Try scooping the poop, with a scoop, and cut out the paper towels. That will be one less thing to bark at. I have trained mine not to bark at each other in the house by making a loud noise, a little unconventional, but slamming a catalogue on the ground,(bear in mind I have up to 14 dogs in the house) or shaking a tin of pennies and small rocks loudly saying 'NO BARK'. It has worked for me, thus far. Good luck with him.
When you find the answer let us know. Kayla runs through the house 90mi.an hr. She never slows up but just long enough to lay over on her back and get ready for the next round. She can tear up more than 3 dogs put together. She has a grip like a pit bull and will bite if you try to take the remote, dryer sheets, my bra's, husband's shirts, my houseshoes, and I don't have enough room to list the rest. They are terriors, I mean terriers, what can you say. HELPPPPP!!
I walk my dog "Koda" everyday and I even have a treadmill that I put him on when the weather is bad. But that does not tire him out. He seems to have more energy! When he steals things it is very hard to get it out of his mouth, he growls and will bite me if I try to take it. I have started holding him upside down and he usually drops it, cause he can't hold on to it. But somethings he eats so fast that I can't get out of his mouth like fingernail emery boards. He has chewed threw 8 collars and they are not cheap ones either. I have tried spraying him water that has worked a little, although when he was little he liked it. But now not so much. I swear he has ADHD. I'm about ready to mail Cesar Millan "The Dog Whisperer" for help. Any more Sugg???
