Some dog food companies offer a frequent buyer program. For ever 10 or so bags you buy you get one free. Maybe the brand you've been feeding offers something like that. They might have a coupon offer too. Try their website.
If your dogs did well on California Natural, try Healthwise. It is made by Natura, the same company as California Natural. Healthwise is a bit cheaper and a high quality food, too. All dog food seems to be high-dollar these days. I was shocked at the local mega-mart the other day to see Iams for $24 per 20lb bag.
we went ahead and stuck with California Naturals my husband and I decided it was best not to change the food again (especially with all my one dogs tummy problems caused by the cheap grocery store brand food but I won't name names) and he does good on CN and loves dinner time so we are sticking with it thought the price should have been lowered when the bag size went down
School bus gal: We do not have a Costco, all we have is sams club and they don't sell anything but Purina and Iams and stuff.....the nearest costco is over an hour and a half away
Good decision. Unfortunately, I find a lot of companies, dog food or otherwise, are reducing the size of their products but increasing the price. Or just plainly reducing the size of their product. Ugh. But if it ain't broke, don't fix it, I say. It'll be worth the extra money in the end.
In order to really enjoy a dog, one doesn't merely try to train him to be semi human. The point of it is to open oneself to the possibility of becoming partly a dog. ~Edward Hoagland
I found Innova adult(green bag), which is made by natura to be an excellent food. My dogs have been on that for several years now. The prices have gone up, but it is still in the 24-26$ range for 17lbs.
