This is the technique I have always used to introduce animals to each other. It's always worked well for me, but of course you can tweak it if you need.
Put them in separate rooms at first. It would probably be easiest to keep the dog in a separate room. Let each of them have a blanket or something to snuggle on, then move the blankets to each other's areas so they can get use to each other's smell. If possible, put up a baby gate or cat gate so they can see and smell each other, but can't actually get to each other. Based on their reaction to each other, you can start to incorporate "supervised visits".
This process can take a few days, a few weeks, or even a few months. It has always turned out for me that the younger the two animals are when they are brought together, the faster they take to each other. Just watch their behavior and let them go at their own pace. Don't force them on each other or it will just make things worse.
