I was totally disgusted and heartbroken when I read this. This man needs to be held accountable for his actions and prosecuted to the full extent of the law. Your darn right I signed it and forwarded it on to friends.
I saw on the news here in Missouri two weeks ago a Siberian Husky for adoption. He is red and white with the most gorgeous blue eyes. He is quite a handsome guy. When he was found he had a tumor on his face (which they removed) and had been shot at with a BB gun because they removed pellets from his legs and one ear. It just makes me sick to hear of animals abused. I would adopt him myself but I know my male dog would not accept him. I hope he gets adopted because I'm not sure if this a no kill shelter. I do know he is in a foster home at the present time. If anyone lives around St. Louis and is interested, you can see him at strayrescue.org and I think he is on the 4 or 5 page. His name is Dallas. Someone please help this handsome boy!!!
Majoria, I live near stl, but cannot help the poor guy. I have too many dogs as it is. That organization is wonderful, non-kill. I cannot believe someone would shoot a dog--unless it was doing harm to your children. I know out here in the country, it is perfectly legal to shoot a dog if it is harming your livestock. We had a group of wild dogs kill a goat. I went out with a broom and they ran away. The goat's back was broken and my husband had to shoot her. Horrible. We have had male dogs come out of the wood work when a female has been in heat. I have caught one and took him to the Humane Society, where he was neutered and sent back home to his family. I have found all you have to do is shoot off a bottle rocket and the strays run for the hills. This man in the featured article, OMG, all he would have had to do is pick the guy up and return him home.
Outside of a dog, a book is man's best friend. Inside of a dog it's too dark to read!! Groucho Marx
Thanks Razz for letting me know it is a non-kill shelter. That sure puts my mind at ease. I have about made myself sick thinking about this husky. For some reason, I just couldn't get Dallas off my mind. You said you live near St. Louis, where abouts? I live in Washington, MO.
