well, the problem is mazel is very small and she can not reach my bed. they sell these little dog stair cases but they cost over $100!! i have tried a little step stool but she wont use it. another thing i worry about is her little knee joints, it must be very stressful for them to take the impact of-- on the couch--off the couch all the time. i have her on glucosamine in the hope that that'll help i have stacked pillows but it isnt very practical. what do you all do.
I have a short dog, so there is no way she will be able to jump on to a bed. When I let her come up on the bed, I usually just lift her up. She is getting heavy though! The stairs is really a good idea if you can get the dog to use them.
Emma, I have a 3-4lb. 6 month old Malti/Pom puppy. I have stacked big pillows forming a ramp that leads up to my bed. I spread them so they gradually incline up to the bed. It's the easiest and cheapest solution for me. It's also very easy to remove when I don't want him on or off the bed. I take them away at nite when we are sleeping (he sleeps with us) so he won't get down in the middle of the nite and wander around. I have seen those ramps advertised in magazines etc. and they are very expensive and bulky looking to me. They must get in the way and where do you store them when not in use? My house is too small for all that. The pillows work for me.
