my husky will be 14 in feb. he has been good until about a year ago he is getting tumers all over his body. one large one under his front leg so he is having a hard time walking. he sleeps all the time. the only time he gets up is when he wants to go out or eat. he eats well an is about 75 lb. but i can tell he is in pain the vet said it is not cancer. they will not remove the tumers because of his age. what should i do.
It is definatly a very hard decision. I usually ask my self what is the dog quality of life. If he really has no quality, then putting them to sleep is best. The other thing is how bad is the pain? Could he be put on a pain killer to make things better? 14 is such an old age, and it is wonderful you were able to enjoy him for so long. I wish you all the luck.
I recently had to put my BT down and she was my baby. I decided to this based on her quality of life, like Illusion said. She had cancer in her lungs and she was really miserable. I wanted to keep her with me but ultimately I gave her up.
Just pray that God will lead you and provide you with peace about this. You will know when the time to let go comes. Sorry again and I honestly know how you feel right now.

It is a hard decision to make but if I where in your shoes I would put your babt to sleep. I know it is a hard thing to do but if you really love him you should stop the pain for him. Do you want to see him in pain for any longer. I will be praying for you.
