I have an 8 month old pit bull mix puppy, and he has been peeing in my bed. I have recently brought two other pits into my home and they are each a year and half old. I thought it was because he wasn't neutered but even after getting him cut he is still doing this. he is crate trained and does very well with that, he only has a few accidents if ever except for this problem. I'm not sure if this is his way of marking his territory with the other dogs in the house, but none of them sleep with me due to them chewing on things while i sleep. I take them all out about every hour when im home just to avoid them having accidents he has done this when im not in the room and even right in front of me, with no warning or asking to go out just walked into the room, jumped up on the bed, looked at me, when i said what you up to buddy he squated and full out peed on my bed. Im at the end of my rope with this one I don't understand it at all and I really thought that having him neutered would have solved this. I will welcome any thoughts or idea on this matter. thanks
It sounds like a dominate issue if he is mostly doing it right in front of you. He knows the bed is your safe place because that is where you sleep, and is also upset with the new additions. You are going to have to keep him off your bed completley. If he wants to go up there, too bad. You are going to have to teach him not to go up there at all if you don't want him peeing on there. If you have too, lock him out of there. Sorry to be blunt, but that is the only way you are going to keep him from doing it.
I let mine on the bed, but ONLY when I say it is ok. That teaches them respect for you, and not to go up there whenever they feel like it.
Do your dogs sleep in their crate at night? Mine do, when they are in there at night it teaches them discipline.
Animals, what animals? My children just have alot of hair!
