hello, so glad I found this site! My name is Amy, and our frenchie, Izzy had 5 pups, (c-section) 8 weeks ago. Very bad experience. Only came home with one pup. Very sad day. Anyway, this one pup just left two days ago and Izzy is nearly dried up, except one teat. It is not hot, red, nor does she seem sick. I believe it is galactostasis. What is the recommended treatment for this? I read quite a bit online, and some say cold pack, some say warm, some say diuretic, some cortisone. Could it be treated at home, or should we see the vet? Please help me, so confused. Amy
Personally I belive when it comes to possible infection, always seek the vets advice. They can really tell what is going on. Home treating is great for experianced people, but when in doubt everything can go wrong. I for one would always check with my vet first.
Thank you for the advice, we are definately taking her to see our vet. Hope everything is ok. Does not appear to bother her but I would really like it treated, and gone! Thanks again! So glad I foung this website! Amy
