Hi everyone! Been a while since i've been on here, been busy with moving, work and of course my furbaby!
I had a question and was hoping some of you may help me until I go to the vet.
My girl Zero started shaking her head several times last night in what seemed to me discomfort but not necessarily pain. I used a cotton ball with just a little dab of baby oil to wipe out her ears. There wasn't too much gunk in there but it did stop her from shaking her head.
Today, her ears are a little pink and I am concerned that maybe I caused them to be pink by wiping her ears with the baby oil. Or maybe she is starting to get an ear infection?
Do any of you have any short term suggestions as far as cremes that would help soothe her tender ears? She already has a scheduled apt on Wednesday and I don't want to make any unnecessary trips, especially since it doesn't seem to be an emergency.
Thanks in advance!!
Also! There is no odor.

There really isn't anything I would suggest using that is over the counter. Just keep cleaning them out until her appt. so it relieves some of the discomfort. Then the vet can determine what is causing her to have buildup in her ears and dispense the approrpiate medication.
Agree with Scout. The vet will determine if it is yeast or bacteria based infection and prescribe the med that is effective for that type of infection. Antibiotics will likely also be prescribed if she does have an infection rather just an irritation.
Until the appointment I would just use a 1/2 water 1/2 peroxide solution and wipe the ear out daily. Make sure to not leave the ear wet and see it is throughly dried. Any moisture will aid in the growth of germs.
