Hi. I have an 8 month old american bulldog female. She is very lean and muscular weighing in at 65 lbs. I understand with Brachycephalics they tend to snort and snore a lot! She does and i'm okay with it. Just recently (last night) she was laying down with her tummy up (asking for the 5th belly rub of the night) and she started breathing odd and making horrible snorting sounds like her trachea had collapsed. I've seen it in other dogs I've had in the past (normally known in smaller toy breeds) and i was wondering if i should worry, or just a normal trait with this type of breed. Some incite would be great, We love our daisy very much and want to make sure she is healthy.
p.s i've tried pineapple and it's failed... anyone else know ideas of stopping her from eating her own feces? I clean her area constantly but she'll eat it as soon as she's finished using the bathroom.
I personally would have a vet check her out just in case. It never hurts to have a perfessional opinion, esp. when it comes to breathing problems. I would also use a harness for walking, not just a collar.
As far as the poo eating, I have never had much luck with any of the OTC stuff. My dogs have all grown out of it eventually.
