I'm having my 10month old Rottie spayed next month. Any Pre or Post surgery advice

I have a German Shorthair mix that we had spayed last year. To be honest, it didn't seem to bother her much at all. The vet made a small incision in her lower abdomen. The biggest issues we had is once she was feeling better, she still had stitches but wanted to rip and jump around. You are to keep her calm until the stitches come out (yeah right). But, do your best. I know the vet did not keep her over night, but I do know that some do.
