Hello pet lovers...i am new to this site...and was googling patella luxaition...my 6 yr old jack russell (brody...the love of my life..other than my husband) is having surgery thursday on his knee...i just wanted to get any advice anyone may have on how to prep/help his surgery to go well...any comments are appreicated!!!
I don't have a whole lot of advice on after surgery care, but I can tell you that luxating patella's is a condition that is indeterminate in origin. It can be caused by trauma to the knee, hereditary, simply age wearing the cartilege away, etc. It used to be thought that it was a genetic issue. Luxating patella's are very typical in certain breeds.
