My 4 year old Bichon gave birth to 4 beautiful healthy pups, the last one at 3:26 am yesterday!! I talked to Vet today because she was still vomiting at 2:30 pm, was told that this is normal for some and just make sure she continues to eat and drink. I also asked the Vet about her not wanting to leave the pups to go out and potty, was told to give her some more time to rest, then try to convince her she had to go out. Okay, here are my two concerns that I would appreciate any and all advice on.
1.) She has not kept any food down still. The last attempt I gave her some warm chicken broth about 30 minutes ago, so far so good. However she has held it this long earlier today also. Could this still be normal?
2.) I have carried her outside and she just runs back to the door and cries to go back in to puppies. She hasn't pooed at all today and only peed once right after finishes whelping. She is drinking fine and is eating, although her appetite hasn't increased as I feel it should have. Is it okay that she hasn't peed or poo all day?

Can you give her a potty pad or something right next to the babies and give her a little privacy? Most of mine don't want to be out of sight of their babies and use the pads until the puppies get a week or so old.
I've never had any vomit like that, so I can't help you there. But she needs to be getting water at least or could become serious. If she ate the placentas that might be upsetting her stomach, it gives mine runny green stool for the first few times.
Thank you so much for the Chicken and rice suggestion, it stayed down and seemed to settle her stomach!!! I can't thank you enough!! I did get her to go out by carrying her out and now she will go and then go right back to the door. Awe, what sweet love for her pups!! Thanks Again!!
