I have asked a couple of questions on the forum but have not received any answers so I am going to ask it again a different way.
I have a 1.5 year old Bichon Frise (male)and a 10 year old cockapoo (female) who both need to be trained. The cockapoo listens to a point but the Bichon seems to run the house and is learning bad habits from the cockapoo.
My question is what is the best method to train them? I took the Bichon to PetSmart and he went through his puppy classes but as soon as he got home he reverted back to being wild and doing what he wanted to. I have been doing research on the internet and have seen a number of ways to train dogs but are these methods right and will they actually train my dogs? I have seen the treat method with the clicker, which I feel is only good as long as you have treats with you; the choker collar, prong collar, or shock collar, which I feel is just going to have your dog respect you out of fear, which I do not feel is the right way to train a dog.
Are there any video training methods out there that actually work that do not incorporate any of the above methods?
