I have a 7 3/4 yr old FCR who has been diagnosed with IBD (scoped) for 3 years now. He cannot take prednisone (the drug of choice); Metronizadole is ineffective. Food sensitivities controlled but not his PICA. He will eat any non-food item available and dirt. Watching him 24/7. Just sent for a somewhat new saliva test for food intolerances called NutriScan. Neither my vet nor I know anyone who's used it.
I had the Nutriscan test done on my Morgan dog. He was sensitive to all but 4 foods on the panels. With help from Dr. Dobbs, he is on a beef/carrot diet right now. Using coconut oil instead of fish oils. He's 15 days out from any Inflammatory Bowel Disease flare ups. Before this, he had daily episodes. Although I know that Morgan will not grow old, this has helped enormously and my dog is healthier. Kudos to Dr. Dobs and Nutriscan.
